Status effects are debuffs that can be applied to Players and hostile creatures which have an adverse impact on their capabilities. How these debuffs are applied depends on the source of the debuff, though they all have the same potency. Debuffs can last any period of time, dependant on the spell or skill used to inflict it, and can be removed using specific spells or skills.[break][break]
Certain locations, bosses, or challenges in the game may inflict the Player with a negative status effect unique to the encounter that cannot be found elsewhere. These status effects must be dispelled through problem solving and usage of the environment.
Causes the affected target to take sustained, minor damage per post.
Affected targets fall head over heels for the source of the charm and are unable to perform any actions except walk towards them to swoon.
Affected targets are plunged into the depths of misery and despair, rendering them unable to perform any actions except wander aimlessly in confusion. Affected targets also take increased damage in this state.
Causes the affected target to take sustained, minor fire damage per post. Also increases fire damage taken.
Causes the affected target to take sustained, minor ice damage per post. Also reduces AGI by 50%.
Causes the affected target to take sustained, minor poison damage per post.
Knocks the affected target out cold, preventing them from taking any action— including spells, skills, and all movement, rendering them completely vulnerable. Any active spell or skill effects created by the affected target are interrupted.
The affected target is paralyzed, preventing movement, changes of facing, and usage of movement-based skills or spells (flight, teleportation, etc.).
Accuracy of the affected target is dramatically reduced. Additionally, they have a low chance of using a completely different spell or skill than they intend to in combat when affected by this debuff, as well as attacking their own allies.
Lowers the accuracy of the effected target to basically zero, causing most skills and spells to miss.
The affected target is completely prevented from casting tiered spells, but are still able to use skills (even if they are magic-based).
The affected target receives a -50% stat point penalty to all stats. This status affect can be removed by eating, drinking, and/or resting. If any stat falls below zero because of this debuff, target is rendered [Unconscious].
